Unflavoured Plant Protein in Australia: Pea, Rice and Label Comparisons

05 Oct 2026
NOW Foods Sprouted Brown Rice Protein Powder – 80% Protein, Unflavored, 2 lb package shown as a label-comparison example

Choosing an unflavoured plant protein is easier when you separate flavour, protein source, serving mass and protein grams. This guide shows a practical label comparison without promising a taste or health result for every product.

Unflavoured does not necessarily mean tasteless

An unflavoured label describes a product’s flavour positioning. Read the complete ingredient list for added flavours, sweeteners and other ingredients, then check manufacturer preparation instructions. A plain powder can still have the taste and texture of its ingredients; we have not taste-tested every listing.

Keep pea, rice, soy and blends distinct

Record the named protein source and every source in a blend. Allergen information and other ingredients matter as much as the front label. A plant-based description alone does not establish suitability for an individual allergy or every dietary requirement.

Protein grams and scoop grams answer different questions

The scoop’s total mass includes the complete product. Compare the labelled grams of protein per serving alongside the serving mass, and keep the units together. Do not assume a 30 g scoop necessarily supplies 30 g of protein.

A real manufacturer example

NOW Sports publishes a current label for its sprouted brown rice protein powder and describes that product as unflavoured. Read that exact panel when considering the matching package. A manufacturer source is useful for formula and pack facts, but is not an independent review of flavour or a guarantee that every market’s package is identical.

Compare package value on a declared basis

Where servings per package are supplied, divide the current pack price by that number. If one powder’s serving is larger, also compare the labelled protein amount rather than ranking by cost per scoop alone. Do not invent a serving count when a label is incomplete.

A practical five-field shortlist

Write down: protein source; flavour and sweeteners; protein grams per labelled serving; serving size and servings per pack; allergens and warnings. Add current AUD price and the current delivery estimate after these fields are clear. This keeps a large tub and a small sachet package in context.

Match the format to the intended use

For a smoothie or recipe, check the manufacturer’s mixing and storage instructions. We do not promise identical blending, baking or taste results across pea and rice powders. Ask a dietitian about your overall protein needs rather than turning a package comparison into a personalised intake plan.

Ordering in Australia

AustralianVit lists prices in AUD and offers free standard AU shipping under the current policy. Orders use US fulfilment; dispatch is generally 1–5 business days and most standard deliveries are estimated at 10–18 days after ordering. The policy explains remote-area and other exceptions. A checkout or policy estimate is not a guaranteed delivery date.

Does a larger protein tub mean better value?

Only after the ingredient, serving and protein amounts are comparable. Use the current label and product price; tub weight alone is not a nutritional comparison.

Browse the related product collection. Compare each current label before deciding; a collection link is not a suitability recommendation.
